Dim dip resistor connector, probably disconnected to disable the cretinous dim dip system that afflicts British cars of a certain age. You may find the resistor up under the wing still.

Cretinous dim dip was 1987-1990 isn - so would this marry up with Td5 era? JB

My 1994 300tdi had this so it continued well into the 90s, sure it ended by introduction of td5 though... my 2004 td5 does not have it.

It is still there on the Puma wiring diagrams up to about 2010

My 2007 Puma had it, although by then it was only fitted to N1 category vehicles (the M1 had headlight adjustment from the dash).
The fact that dim dip wasn't fitted doesn't mean that the harness wasn't fitted. If the OP's vehicle is a CSW I doubt it had dim dip, and it is likely that the connector has never been connected. |
