Not today, Saturday though,

Had my first ever experience of offroading, and my first offroading in the defender at LRO show Peterborough. Thoroughly enjoyed myself. Not quite sure whether I prefer it muddy or clean ..

Overhauling the back axle , brakes, callipers, discs, hubs, stub and bearings . Was supposed to be just the stub seal but it all looked awful so thought I’d bite the bullet !
Big question , I’ve put it all back together to find I have a ring that surrounds the studs on the stub on the workshop floor that didn’t come with the kit !
Is it important , I sincerely hope not as don’t want to strip it all back down 😅

I’ve done that error before. I stripped all down and redid it. However, it is just a dust/dirt guard, so not utterly essential.

But, just do it.

Joined the “shiny tip” brigade ( don’t laugh too loud Clayton) having had the Alive exhaust system fitted today by my local indie ”Vanstones” of Launceston (thanks guys excellent service as ever, see you on the 26th Thumbs Up )

Nicely made item as you would expect from Alive, heavy gauge stainless steel with nice tidy welding work, lifetime warranty, very impressed with it visually and sound wise adds a nice tone to the engine, subtle but you can hear it and if your heavier on the right foot even more so, well I had to try it didn’t I Rolling with laughter

On their website it’s says performance gains in excess of 10%, not sure how to measure that to be honest but it brings together the Alive Ultimate intercooler, Alive -1 suspension, Fox dampers and Alive stage 2 remap Thumbs Up making my Defender a much much nicer drive with better acceleration, nicer exhaust tone and better handling.

Top marks to Alive for their products Bow down

Top marks to A Plan for how easy it was after a 2 minute chat on the phone at no cost to get this “mod” added to the insurance policy Thumbs Up

I did laugh loud but louder still when i read the bit referring to me Rolling with laughter

But disappointed with you for cheating and getting a new exhaust and not just cleaning the old one Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. Keeper.

One of ours had a munch at my bonnet once too. Shocked
Luckily noticed in time, and never allowed them to get that close again.

So temporary fencing has to come out when parked near. Rolling Eyes

Not sure what the attractions is really, I guess it's just something new and different.
I believe Cows have been known to do just the same!

It could be worse, at Longleat safari park they had a Tiger take off a Smart car bonnet and engine cover completely and front bumper. Whistle Rolling with laughter
Old Red (the Tiger.) was very pleased with his new bumper he hunted and caught too. Rolling with laughter Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

I'd just pulled in to the field to tip a load of trees out the tipper into the bonfire pit.

Turned round and they were over checking out the surroundings.

Couldn't have bitten harder Rosco! Looking to try and organise a day/weekend trip with some fellow Def2 owners in November down in Kent/Surrey if anyone fancies it.
