2014 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 HT Fuji White
My new ones in LR black primer cost me £450 for the five to be blasted, primed (in powder coat), two pack coated in Fuji white, and new tyres fitted. This was a few weeks ago.

A quick question to you LRA, and indeed JTP if i may.

From looking at the wheel nuts which do look great, You have decided to retain the original studs.

Did you look at replacing with the extended studs, I too have a set which i intend to use over the winter months and had hope to rotate either set of wheels (Wolfs or Sawtooth) without any great effort.

I wondered about the studs too, but it has been covered on here before, and as the army use the standard studs, I was happy to stick with them.

Apparently you do need to tighten the nuts more though. I've no idea of the torque figure but I just extended my, er, extending wheel nut spanner and gave them a bit extra. They haven't come loose so far and of course any threads outside the nuts aren't actually doing much.

No, I'll retain the original wheel studs. LR didn't change them for the vehicles sold with these wheels from new, so I don't see any point. Darren

I like these very much, coupled with the capped wheel nuts, they look really smart.

I see these are Matt black as supplied, so can I ask Darren, if the quality of finish was good enough to leave - assuming you wanted Matt black of course? Thanks Rob

They looked ok but I wouldn't swear to it as a good final finish. I didn't look too closely, I'm afraid, as I always intended to have them painted. Darren

Not wanting to blow smoke up your arse but that is the cleanest, straightest, rustless Defender I've ever seen, and the wheels looks suit the overall look. Well done on both counts Thumbs Up

Torque for genuine HD Wolf wheels with steel nuts is 170 Nm. Genuine alloys require 133 Nm.
Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.
