I know it’s nitching like a “real” defender , but I quite like it, especially if there are some decent colours. 🤔
It’s clearly the successor to the D3/4 which were great👍🏻 2002 td5 90 county hardtop

Thankyou for sharing the video, having watched it on first impressions it’s not my type of vehicle but nevertheless I wish JLR good luck with the launch and future sales Thumbs Up

Now to pop outside apply more Dinitrol and wax to preserve “The Defender” on my driveway. 2015 HT XS 90

I like it, would probably suite our life style perfectly!

It’s more of a D3/4 successor than a defender though, and given other models in the range I’m not sure I would spend the asking price..

I think the 110 in a certain colour won't be that bad, think I need to see it in the flash.

I have a D4 at the moment I will be looking into replacing in 12 months. I do not want a D5, I'd rather have herpes.

So it's an option, would have to be big engine diesel.

If not suitable, a second hand low mileage D4 will have to be bought.

Like it in general as a new very SUV looking vehicle, no doubt much more capable than most SUVs.
Have a bit of trouble with the rear end looks, but especially with that odd body colour square on the rear side window. Looks totally out of place.
Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

France 2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 DCPU Corris Grey
Note the age/demographic of the actors in the video. All 30-something urbanites.

What is undeniable is:

1. The thought gone into its design.
2. The technology harnessed
3. That it’s a Disco 5 (or what the D5 should have been).

If I was ever in the market for a D5 then I’d seriously consider this as it seems so much more capable. But in terms of finishing off this apparently excellent conception with styling cues to really tie in the Series/Defender heritage, it’s a big, fat fail IMHO.

I like it, the 90 especially, but NEVER as a replacement for my DCPU and as a Defender only in name. I have no doubt they will sell like hot cakes and we will see many, many of them on the roads. However, most of those roads will be in/around urban centres, and most (but not all) in the SE... Whistle

I’m going to call this the Defcovery. Monsieur Le Grenadier

I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list.....

I have been around Land Rover vehicles all my life (all 28 years Laughing ). I can remember my Dad's N reg, 2005, 2009, 2016 Defenders (still has the 09 & 16) and the family Disco 1, Disco 2 (came from Belgium!), x2 Disco 3 and now Disco 4. I have owned my 300Tdi Defender for 8 years and still have it....

...and I really like the look of this 'new' Defender! Look forward to actually seeing one in the flesh.

Will wait for confirmation on the pricing but I just don't get who they are aiming at. My wife and I live rurally, I work in the countryside, the wife tows her horse around the place, not rich by any means but we earn above average but there's no way on earth I/we could afford £45k starting price if that's indeed the case. I run a new Toyota Land Cruiser SWB commercial for work, that was ex-demo at £24k+VAT, yes it's basic but is comfy and has all the mod-cons I need!

So here's to hoping that they depreciate nicely and they are affordable in 3-4 years!! Very Happy

Both my kids which are yuppies love it. They called me from the train to work, and said when my wife needs another car, well.....
Those three examples are exactly JLR’s target group for this vehicle.

Weirdly a not very good video, with a poor, looping synth track. It’s a far cry from the one where they show military lads dropping one out of an airplane.

As others have mentioned, this is more Disco than Defender. Fine for what it is but hardly a successor to an icon.
