Re: Stolen - Green Defender Puma 2.4
‘Sake.... that’s terrible news. And very close for comfort.... I’ve seen your Defender in Marks Tey station car park many a time over the past year or so. Wasn’t yours the one NCP slapped tickets on almost everyday for a week?

Sad

Morning all,

Just posting to save anyone a buying mistake - my Defender was stolen from Bures in Essex yesterday. It’s an XS CSW in green, with all the chequer plate powder-coated black.

Good weekend

Please would you share how they did that to help the rest of us prevent it?

At the moment it seems they’re towing them to avoid pedal and steering locks.

Must be the same gang, all within a stones throw. Let's hope plod catch them quickly. I expect the vehicles are shipped straight out of Harwich in parts.

yeah, this latest one had a tracker. The police apprently notified the owners that their tracker was pinging but it was then disabled in a couple of minutes. definatley knew what they were doing

Procta has mentioned the removeable boss and a Swivel Lock .... is this worthwhile over a disklok?

what's peoples view?

Surely they can just remove the swivel some how?

Just looked and £313 from optimill for it all.

Sadly classic Tracker trackers seem to be installed in one of a handful of places, and the villains know exactly where to look. There are a couple of tell-tale signs too, that make its presence immediately obvious, pretty much as soon as you open a door.

Do enough digging on the intertubes and you’ll see what I mean.

In my view they’re a waste of money, as the minute the crooks see it they’ll switch their attack to towing the vehicle away instead. The weak point is also the steering linkage. Your £300 shiny boss is easily overcome by removing a split pin and a castellated nut.
