I had a issue with the bulkhead connector, just driving along and engine cut out. no feed to the stop solenoid. Traced the wire back to the block, live feed in but due to corrosion in the block no live feed out. Fixed it by just bypassing the block with a new piece of wire job done.

Millie has developed a problem, it started about 2 weeks ago Rolling Eyes

it's like she is coughing, you have to lift off the throttle so she can catch up and then put the throttle on again slowly,

:

Thats like a clogged filter. . the solenoid kills the motor ,

someone mentioned there's a gauze on the bosch ve pump and this can get clogged, but not many people know about it.
I think he said it's on the inlet or something, might be worth having a look.

UPDATE

With all of your help i have sorted this problem out now and Millie has not coughed since ( touching the table and saying, touch wood Wink )

On the Friday just gone after work i went around to my store, i had to doing a little job there first Whistle then i remembered what 300 Tdi csw Phil had said, so i thought i would start by cleaning the wire up that connects to the top of the stop solenoid, as i put a spanner on the nut to loosen it, the wire dropped off, o i thought, it's not meant to do that and i thought it had broken off, so i continued to loosen the nut and take it off, once off i had a piece of metal on the stop solenoid, so i took that of and found that it had a male spade on one end, so the live wire that dropped of was the female to go on the male spade and was loose Rolling Eyes
This is a pic of what i am trying to explain as i didn't take any pic's .........

So i cleaned up the male spade end and what goes on top of the stop solenoid and then cleaned up the female end and crimped it up a bit and i have a good fit now, so once altogether, i have cable tied the wire to the throttle cable bracket so it does not come apart hopefully again Very Happy

Does anyone else have this set up as i thought the wire would go straight on to the stop solenoid Question

I'm thinking now that Millie is going much better now as this could of been going on, but not coughing and causing the stop solenoid plunger to restrict the flow of diesel to the injector pump Thumbs Up

Thank you again to you all Very Happy 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. Keeper.

Result, well done. Thumbs Up
Was the nut loose or was it just the female connector to male?
Is there a reason why it has that set up perhaps to stand-off? Or otherwise why wouldn't a ring terminal direct to the solenoid threadeded post be much better removing a failiure point.
Maybe they're isn't room perhaps. Diesels Lives Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️

It was the female connector to the male spade that was loose Thumbs Up

The only reason i can see for this method is that when the injector pump is taken out, you just have to pull the live wire from the male spade, no fiddling with the small nut Wink 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. Keeper.
