Don't get me wrong I'm not a relation of the Vanstone family, just a friend and I have family working there and have known dave and rob for a few years.

We were driving along quite happily, when the sound of a mouse in the back of the 110 started.
A really high pitched squeak !!
The wife took the wheel and as we drove along i climbed into the back listening for it, and found the squeak coming from the back door latch/lock.
Quick pitstop at a garage and a can of WD40 and we were driving squeak free.

For me absolutely sod all as I’m away in the USA with work! But in the past three days the wife has been busy with the 110 - checking the fuel pump diaphragm, replacing spill rail hoses & rebuilding the fuel cap to try and diagnose a spot of over pressurisation in the tank causing a little fuel leakage. She went to head off for a few days with our two daughters & pooch in tow only to find the dam thing didn’t start, lucky next door gave her a quick hand and she’s now winding her way (presumably at 53mph) down to Pitlochry to enjoy the weather!

She’s deffo a trooper and deserves a mention!

She’d be made up to hear all that! She’s fallen out with it as it also stopped or should I say failed to start in Aviemore after a refuel - but she’s already keen to dive under and check the earthing points - as I recall same symptoms last year from a bit of dirt ingress and corrosion!

Sunday, recovery duty on Ty Croes for the JRT Enville stages. Since having injector seals and timing adjusted, low down power is better.

The drive home on the A55 features Rhuallt Hill. which previously when towing I would be lucky to make it to the top in 5th, normally, 1/2 - 3/4 way up the hill the speed would be dropping off and 4th would be needed.

Since having the injector seals and timing adjusted, flew up flat in 5th, overtaking a slower moving care towards the top of the hill. Smile 1999 Defender TD5 110

Last night I swapped the tyres around, front to back and back to the front in an attempt to find the cause the wheel wobble.

Pleased to say, that after swapping around, the steering wheel is stable and no wobble, all in all a much better drive.

Next to work out, which wheel was causing the grief. The drivers side wheel had the most balance weights on. I think I will get the tyre & weights removed and ask them to check the balance of the rim on its own and go from there. 1999 Defender TD5 110

This week has seen a plethora of stuff going on in the blue truck..

As truck cabs have little room, Ram Mounts from www.mudstuff.co.uk will help organise things nicely...

and this little mod, along with associated halfs, props etc should help things keep rolling when things get tricky.
