Portugal 2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Santorini Black
Brake calipers
Morning All,

I have been trying to sort out my brakes for a while now.
Last saturday i finally installed the last brake pad,pistons would not go back.
Now when i brake the car vibrates and the wheel is very hot, hotter then the other side.
I think the caliper needs replacing. is there a video on youtube that shows how to do change the calipers.
Also can anyone post a link of where to buy a set.
Does it make a difference that it has ABS?
Sorry about all the questions but it is doing my head.
It is for a 110 2.4 2011
Any help would be appreciated.

Straight forward to change a caliper, but looks like you need a new disc as well as sounds like its warped. always change the pair.

the vibrating could be uneven wear or warped disc.

if a piston is stuck then yes caliper prob needs rebuilding/replacing.

Could you force the piston in with a G clamp?

or try taking disc out and pumping pedal to get piston to come out.

on my 10 plate 72k miles neither of the two near side pistons would move without a massive amount of pedal pressure. Cheers

Thank you all for the replies.
I don’t think the disc is warped it only started doing it after I managed to change the brake pad. It has only done 90miles since.
Does it matter that it has ABS?
Does the calliper need to be different?
Do I have to unplug the ABS?

ignore the fact it has ABS, just change as a std caliper. it will bleed through the ABS system Cheers

Remember to put a clamp on the brake flexi pipe before removing brake pipe from caliper, less to bleed later.
