Hi all,
Now my 90 V8 project is on the road, we have realised that the gearing is a little long with the higher ratio V8 5th gear, 1.2 ratio transfer and 255/85 tyres. Therefore I am looking for a good condition (Td5 if possible) 1.4 ratio transfer box to put in instead. Does anyone have on lying around after doing the opposite swap? Still looking for a standard 1.4 ratio Defender transfer box. I will consider a tdi age box but would prefer a td5 one. Surely someone must have one they have removed to fit a higher ratio 1.2 Discovery transfer?

The issue might be that you need to rob bits from the 1.4 box to fit to a D2 1.2 box, so (for example) I've been left with a 1.4 box but it's incomplete - no rear housing, no brake drum.
