United Kingdom 2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 SW Orkney Grey
Redbooster clutch slip
Just had a Redbooster fitted to my Puma Defender at 32K miles. Impressed with the improvement in pedal weight, especially for the missus.

Drives normally under light load, but I put my foot down in 6th (with my other foot off the pedal) and the revs increased as though the clutch was slipping.

Anybody else had this issue or know the probable cause?

Advice welcome!

Or more likely that it's been poorly adjusted.

Timo,

A fair point given Puma clutches, but no slip on the run immediately prior to install.

Anyone know whether air in the hyds would show as slip. I’m not as familiar as I know I should be. If it is clutch I’m assuming a ClutchFix replacement is the sensible choice?

Edit:

Thanks, Mo. Hopefully that’s the issue

To anyone stumbling across this thread in the future:

My clutch slip was due to a failing slave cylinder and not related to the Redbooster at all.

I’ve just returned from some great driving in the Lakes and I am thoroughly impressed with the Redbooster and how much it helps ease the pain of sitting in Bank Holiday traffic!

Glad it was a relatively easy fix 👍

My dad learned this the very hard way. he decided to change the full smash, but never bothered to check the pedal, burnt the full works, so he had to buy twice! Laugh was all it needed was a master cylinder change in the 1st place Rolling Eyes Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back
