Bilstein shock install help
Ok,

Just swapping over the rear shock for old standard to bilstein at standard height.

The fitting are slightly different so I thought I’d check with the collective experience on here if I have it right.

The photos show both old and new, old as it came off, new as I’m thinking it goes back on.

Main difference is the top with only one of the large wash (not sure of the technical name) and again at the bottom, the last wash is a different shape.

Any advice would be greatfull

The upper washers have the tapered side towards the bush.
Again the same with the lower bushes also. 👍🏻 Diesels Lives Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️

Thanks Custom90,

That makes sense, on the bilstein at the top, there is only one washer in the pack, the original had 2?! Is that normal?

My options seem to 2 large washers at the top but then I’m short one at the bottom or 1 at the top and 2 at the bottom!

Mmmm

There should be 2x washers at the top, they should be identical too.
If you haven't got two of them they must be missing. Diesels Lives Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️

Ok, that makes sense then.

The two identical ones on the top, then on the bottom, the stepped one, bush, then through axl, bush and I must have to use the wash that was existing then. As they only supplied one of that type.
