For greasing the new hinges I ordered an extra grease gun from my dealer. Seems pretty high quality, and they buy those things pretty cheap. I just had to pay them their cost price for it which is something like equivalent of £25.00. They threw in a cartridge of a pretty light lithium grease free of charge.
I already had a grease gun, but one with a flexible nipple hose, and for these hinges I wanted a fixed tube as that is more surely to operate by one person very close to the car body. Less risk that you inadvertently touch the body, especially when removing the grease gun from the hinge which takes a little bit of force til it pops off.
The hinges came lightly pregreased, but I just put the new gun on them, and it works a treat. The grease worked itself up the grease channel in the bearing until it came out. A quick wipe to remove the excess, job done. Probably to be repeated only once or twice a year.

You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

Got this idea from a Twisted Defender at this years Geneva car show. Replace my white 95mm Perei tail/stop Lamps by red lens Perei versions. With a little help from Martin found the best supplier for these lamps. All with the right superseal connector installed so really plug ‘n play. Also decided to replace my Nakatanenga white lens LED 3rd brake light by a red version which was able to source locally here from someone who had one in surplus. Results below.
