1995 Defender 110 300 Tdi CSW Epsom Green

I know most people who contribute to this thread are into live fire shooting be it clays or live quarry.

I enjoy some of that when I get the chance (which is a very rare treat).

The issue I currently have is how to secure the Charging Cylinder (divers type bottle) in the back of the 110 when I go shooting with my airguns.

My current method is to use a short ratchet strap through the frame of the rear seat to stop it moving about but I can't help but think there must be a better way.

Anyone got any ideas? 1995 300 Tdi Epsom Green - It's a keeper.

That looks like a very similar solution to the one I have come up with so I guess I'm not going too far wrong.

The main difference is the lack of a towel to cushion the cylinder on the floor and against the wheelbox. 1995 300 Tdi Epsom Green - It's a keeper.

I must say, there are some lovely looking Dogs and Defenders on this thread.

Im (hopefully) going to be joining the Landy 'shooting' Club.... Posted off my application yesterday. Currently looking into safes, and have chosen a Brattonsound SL7+. Just waiting to hear from the company before I place my order.

I will also be getting myself booked into a Shotgun Skills Programme

***This is a 3 hour course, endorsed and certified by the Clay Pigeon Shooting Association and run here at Sporting Targets.
The course covers everything the new or novice shooter needs to know about;
Safety
Gun Fit and Eye Dominance
Correct stance and foot position
The method of how to shoot simple targets reliably and effectively, which can then be applied to more complex targets
Personal Protective Equipment
Different types of shotgun and types of shotgun that are deemed unsuitable, over view of gun licensing laws
The different types of cartridge, and construction, gauges, how to deal with misfires
How you can adjust the gun to shoot different targets, using “chokes”
Shoot gun “proofing” how to read the proof marks and the implications of making alterations to a shotgun
The Law relating to shotguns
Care and maintenance of a shotgun
On range shooting lesson, employing all that has been learned
At the end of the course you will be presented with a certificate and cloth badge, issued by the CPSA, stating that you have completed the course.***

Regarding your gun cabinet. It looks a decent size but I do not think that one is suitable for rifles with a scope attached, now before you say "I only want shotguns" we have all said that

and then end up buying another safe for our scoped rifles!! Future proof yourself and buy a cabinet that is likely to cover you if you end up going down that route

If I do go down the rifle route, ill either have to de-scope it when I store or buy another safe...

Wouldn't I need a firearms licence for a rifle? Regards

No worries, just thought I would try and save you a few quid

Yes you would need to apply for your FAC for anything other than an air rifle.

Yeh I thought so, That will be a few years off yet.. I like the idea of a pump action or a semi auto.. But that's a long way off yet.. Regards

The passion for hunting is much about the walks, the preparation, being drowned in nature, watching the world wake-up, counting the animals, watching the dogs work, being with friends and family, and the quiet that surrounds you when sitting in a forest or on the side of a mountain.
I must not forget that arriving in a Land Rover Defender at a hunt is also a source of satisfaction that I cannot really explain. It may not be a Range Rover, BMW X5, ML or the likes, but on a hunt it has a certain class and heritage that attracts attention and admiration from many.

Found out from Fieldsports channel. Heard nothing from NE or from BASC or the GWCT of which I am members, or via my local firearms officer. Absolutely crackers. If I didn’t go online this week I would be in breach of the law on Thursday and have no idea.

This cant be how law changes usually happen? Released on Tuesday and in place by Thursday the same week?!
