it's leaking but only an afternoon's job to replace the seal on both sides. it can be quite involving depending on the route you go. easiest way is to take the hub off whole from the axle tube and pop the seals off

I have heard there is a way to split/carefully cut the seal and replace the old one with the cut at the top.

I am not sure how "correct" this is but looks alot easier than taking the hub off even if you have to redo it a a few years time.

I did that on an old series... it stopped the leak but I wouldnt have trusted it under any water.

BIG Thanks to LR
Land Rover agreed to replace the steering servo which was leaking,, and the swivel joint seal. It was only one month out of warranty, but even so they didn't have to do it. Thumbs Up

Work is all done and so everything is dry.

I heard the salt and grit mix they put on the roads here in winter (Austria) has aggressive chemicals in, which can rot the seals and the mechanic told me to jetwash underneath in winter once a week.

It's broadly a very simple job, just time consuming.
