United Kingdom 2008 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 CSW Java Black
Extra Wide Wheel Arches
Recently fitted a set of Sawtooth alloys with 30mm spacers. Now have a very dirty Defender!!!

Has anyone any advice on which arch extensions to fit?? It looks like GRP are the route? Have seen a set of Terrafirma that look reasonably priced.

Thanks
Tim

If you mean the wider arches, I think they are all much of a muchness, quite a few here have them fitted to cover 15x10 -32 offset wheels with wide tyres, which stick a couple of inches past standard arches. My main issue with them (keep thinking about getting them) is they look very 'industrial' with exposed screws holding them on. ---

For a time I was running 285/75 x 16 BFG KM2s on Boosts with 30mm spacers (making them 3mm offset) and Dirt Defenders made all the difference.

I would very much like to see a Defender with these attached. The pictures they have in the magazine adverts look identical to standard ones, eg:

https://www.flatdoguk.com/defender-wide-arches-+30mm~2762

I am slightly sceptical that these are really +30mm over standard, if they really are then its a winner in my mind. 2005 Td5 90 XS

Bear in mind, you'll still have to cut the front wheel arches if you want to maintain the inner wing protection as these +30mm arches are only the external half of the arch.

I had the same thing with the +50mm arches,

Ah fiddlesticks. Thanks for the information. I wonder why on earth no one is doing a complete bolt on replacement in this style, how strange. 2005 Td5 90 XS

@metalmatt, you definitely need bigger wheels with your Tomcat arches! I don't think these would look very good on anything but a severe off roader though.

@benniferj, what size are your wheels and tyres and are you running off set rims or spacers? Am busy saving up for a new set of rubber.
My 90 is just an off road toy does about 1500miles a year if that, pay and play and greenlane trips. it used to sit bonnet deep in mud most weekends lol 1995 Land Rover Discovery 300tdi - Sold
