Just fitted one of these sounders to my Puma. Not the loudest sounder I have ever come across but good enough and as stated above reasonably well made. It is possible to pick up the wiring in the standard vehicle harness so that it gets permanent power plus an alarm trigger signal. If any-one would like details please PM.

Will PM mate

The alarm on my puma sounds, when I disconnect the battery (discovered whilst wiring in the delay/spots. I did not opt for the backup battery sounder. Is this standard or do I have something extra?
What us the disable procedure, for future work?

Mark.

Hi i ordered one of these ages ago ..have not fitted yet! tried it on 12v battery disconnecting either lead and the sounder is dead.......im guessing it will need to charge?or is it duff?i have pm you for fitting instructions as i am clueless with electronics! can you trickle charge this from a charger or do you allow the truck to charge it in situ?

Resurecting an old post. LR BBUS for TD5 appear to be no longer available, or at least JLR are having trouble sourcing them. No third party appears to have stock, despite what their website may say. So as an interim (?) measure I bought one of the BBUS from the earlier link. Seems OK and looks like it will work as a simple alert if power is cut. So far so good, but has anyone worked out how to wire so it is activated by the alarm? Reset will be with the key on the unit, but it is activated with a + or a ground signal (separate) connections. Fine so far but the 10AS activates the BBUS by replacing a + with a ground on the same connection.
Advise gratefully received.

Thanks dorsetsmith. That's the part I have been attempting to obtain. Listed on lots of sites but all have to order from JLR. JLR have none and it is on backorder from whoever made it for JLR. I understand this has been the situation for some time. I have one on order but thought I would add this other BBUS whilst I wait...
