Knocking/tapping sound, anybody heard this before?


TD5 with a stage 2

Started after short fast drive hitting 80mph, I have had this noise before a few months ago but it went away, I seem to remember that was also after some fast driving.

Is it possible the flywheel became out of balance then automatically re balanced it's self the first time?

possible loose clutch plate springs? I am sure someone will be along who knows better than I!

That’s an unusual sound as it’s not related to engine RPM
Sounds like an air leak.

It increases with RPM.

My finger counting comes to 192 knocks per minute Laughing

Nearly a quarter of the idle RPM

Fixed.

It was a broken rocker shaft, second hand replacement £40.

One of those block things highlighted in red had come off and was worn out Shocked
