Steve, Just read those instructions....not much good for me as I'm bloody hopeless at stuff like that, so I always have to get someone to do this sort of stuff, & as I'm a bit of a perfectionist, I will go to the ends of the earth to find the right man WHO KNOWS WHAT HE'S DOING, to do the job for me. Those instructions show that you are THAT MAN, so I'm sure that after reading that, anyone needing their dash pulled apart would have NO hesitation or fears in entrusting their "pride & joy" to you.
Cheers, Pickles.

Thank-you for the kind words. Sadly I think you are that bit too far away for me to do it for you. Razz Razz Diesels Lives Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️

TUT, TUT, Steve, lose the negative attitude.

Your response should be more proactive and helpful.

Something along the lines that you will be more then happy to assist Pickles with his pride and joy as long as Pickles pays your travel and accommodation expenses. Whistle

Melbourne is a lovely city to visit Thumbs Up

Am sure Pickles will be delighted with your workmanship!

I know this is an old thread but I need some help with the centre dash removal.

Having spent an hour yesterday trying to get mine out without success I have one question, Do you need to take the heater controls off in order to pull the centre dash clear enough to fit a new switch?  Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place,
so it doesn't take much to Censored us off.

No you don't. If you unscrew the two bolts, then gently ease out the fascia from the clips holding it in place as per Steve's pics earlier in this thread, the fascia comes away with the cables connected to all the switches. If you are just adding another switch it is possible to do without even disconnecting any of the other switches.

The heater controls are not connected to the fascia and stay in situ

You may need a plastic tool to prise the fascia off the clips holding it in place, especially the ones at the top.

Thank you, that's a wasted hour that I will not get back, I had it all loose then tried to remove the heater controls, I need to get behind the cigar lighter to pick up the feed then insert the switch. Don't make old people mad.
