Hi Mornie,
Thank you for your post, and I wish you luck in your new career.
I think the community is very excited about your new project.
May I enquire, are you likely to consider a V8 version ?
I would be pleased to hear your thinking, and I think that there is a gap since Defender went all Diesel.
You may be aware that the GM LS3 engine is very capable and this perhaps is something you might look at..
Either way, I am very excited and looking forward to exciting times.
Happy New Year to you and your team.
Kind regards.

Hi Mornie,

Any thoughts on my previous question to you in light of the LRO Defender V8 announcement please?

I also thought it interesting how the LRO comments were very much about the IP, I felt.

Do let us know please.
Kind regards.

I don't think Mornie is on here. The text above is just a quote taken from the Ineos website by Dolomite. Darren

The article I saw said they were using MBtech who are (according to wikipedia):

The MBtech Group was founded as a subsidiary of DaimlerChrysler AG . In 2011, Daimler AG sold 65 percent of the shares in the French company AKKA Technologies , while the remaining 35 percent was retained by Daimler AG.

Good share - there are several things in that article that give me great hope, not least that they are only looking for a market of 25,000 vehicles per annum and aiming it at explorers, farmers and off-road enthusiasts.

I'll be watching this space with genuine excitement, in fact more so than the official JLR replacement.

Hopefully, the clue is in The Times article above "An ardent Brexiteer", "...Ratcliffe, 65, has yet to decide where to build it."

I'm sure the UK Govt. will try to match any incentives offered by our continental neighbours.
