I decided to take my spare wheel off and have a look at what was lurking underneath - which I've been meaning to do for a while. Discovered my rear wiper was all rusted up at the hinge, so that explains why it doesn't stay on the glass! Got some WD40 on it, should be better now. Spare wheel carrier was looking a bit rough, so gave that a good dousing in WD40 as well, looks a bit better now. Wondering about re-spraying it, but don't think it's worth the trouble - no-one can see it when the wheel is on. Took the opportunity to give the spare a good wash and wax, hopefully keep it OK for a while longer! (This should be right up Zagato's street!

Going to have the front bumper and crossmember blasted and resprayed along with a couple of areas on the cappings that need some attention. Then it should be looking good again! Tris. |

Went round all the torx bolts on the door hinges and rear crossmember, all loose and the doors had dropped a bit... tightened up rear door 13mm nuts which also were loose after being in for a water leak at the top right hand corner... Morrisons just don't know how to lean on a spanner!! 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..

GM make sure they use a good etch primer first or it'll rust again in no time

Thanks for the advice Grockle. The bloke that I'm taking it to does a lot of classic restoration, and he said the same thing. He is going to sandblast then etch prime, I'm hoping that it will be a god job and keep it looking good for another few years, fingers crossed! |
