It’s very easy to lose a reputation as a quality car manufacturer. Look what happened with Mercedes in the late 90s when the bean counters stopped the over-engineering.
Land Rover are third from bottom in the 2017 JD Power dependability survey, which is completely at odds with the image. Or maybe it isn’t anymore.
