United Kingdom 2002 Defender 110 Td5 DCPU Keswick Green
As adverse as I am to using steel or stainless grub screws into aluminium it might be suitable for this application. Thinking back to certain mountain bike pedals they have a similar arrangement with a grease port normally sealed with a grub screw (into an aluminium or magnesium alloy housing) with grease being administered by syringe.

The clearances on the pin in this case may prohibit the use of a high viscosity grease however a lighter machine oil could be administered in the same way?

Cheers,

There is always the option of using a chainsaw grease gun to lubricate if the hole is large enough (2-3mm) Thumbs Up 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

In each pic the image on the left is the original part, the centre is hard anodised and the right is bead blasted and hard anodised. The bead blasted parts look great, really pleased with the finish.

Thanks! I guess the photos aren't the best but they give an idea. I was in Salcombe a few weeks ago and saw a 15 plate 90 with dreadful blistering on the bonnet blocks - they were really poor. Hopefully these will solve that problem!
