They will have a better "key" than when standard so when finished they should last for years

I know how much they will cost finished i.e. unpainted. What is a reasonable sale price for a pair?

Difficult one to answer.
A quick google shows the current versions are priced from £72 to £119 2007 - Stornoway Grey 90 XS SW - Gone 2002 - Black Discovery II - Gone 2014 - Montalcino Red 110 XS SW |

Thanks Rosco. It probably makes sense to send the samples to a distributor or two for them to assess the quality and determine a sensible price point in the market.

Hinges - how about a small hole to enable some lubrication?

Yep that sounds like a great idea, I would definitely be interested in a set if you go into production since the replacement ones I bought aren't very good quality. 1993 200 Tdi 90 CSW

Would a small hole in three places along the hinge pin be worthwhile? 2007 - Stornoway Grey 90 XS SW - Gone

Agreed, the initial drawing is only going to enable lubricant on the middle part, so replicating that top and bottom makes sense. Thanks Rosco!

I am presuming the pin is static in the outer lugs of the hinge and the middle part rotates around it. Therefore I cannot see the advantage of lubricating the outer parts.
Would be worth having a grease nipple on the lubrication point to prevent dirt ingress if there is room. If not maybe some other form of cap Steve 02' 110 TD5 Double Cab Rebuild Thread |

We looked at a grease nipple but it would mean a quite visible change in appearance and we are trying to keep it all completely standard. I'll revisit it and see whether we could go with a cap of some sort. Thanks.
