Heavy Clutch PEdal
i notecid that the clutch pedal on my Defender is very stiff and hard to push down. Even compared to the other landys i have driven.

i would like to do the a clutch pedal mod, i have read that replacing the pedal/spring with one from the 300 tdi would help.(part nr ANR5311)

has anyone done this mod?

heres a thread for the td5 , i am just not sure if this also works for the puma..http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic6616.html

Had a test drive today in a 2013 110 USW XS and also found the clutch pedal really hard to depress. Is there a modified spring that can be fitted to this age of vehicle to make it easier to depress? If so, advice on how to do it would be appreciated. Or is it the same as a TD5 detailed elsewhere on this site. What part number is the replacement spring? Discovery 4 HSE

Master cylinder bore i think.

There is also a revised slave cylinder which makes it slightly lighter, but i'm not sure when it bacame standard fit on the production line.

Mine with all the latest bits is certainly heavier than a modern car, but it's not worse than any other Defender i've driven. it could be that some of the pivots in the pedal box need a drop of oil?

As far as l know The tdci already has the "lighter clutch pedal spring" fitted as standard.

All the tdci's l've driven have had a fairly light clutch, certainly better than my TD5 (before l fitted the spring mod)

If your tdci has a heavy clutch l would think it's faulty/worn close to the limit.
