My initial thought was that they are a bit bling. I'm going to live with them for a bit first and see how I get on
![]() Glad you're enjoying the seats. Thank goodness for autocorrect! I can't spell to save my life haha!
Now with the CSW bulkhead bar the new seats are very comfy but they weren't the best with the bulkhead in place as they are much thicker seats and so there was actually less room ![]() 1990 Vogue SE Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 Td5 90 Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic50767.html Tdi 110 Thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic69562.html RRC Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic54492.html Instagram http://www.instagram.com/george_grafton |

Did you fit the mobile centre heated windscreen kit/loom yourself and if so was it relatively easy? I am hoping to do mine before the winter, my screen has a big scratch so could do with changing anyway.... 1993 200Tdi Defender 90 |

Yes I fitted the loom myself and it was very easy. 3 wires to connect to the vehicle (power, earth and ignition live) then plug into the screen and as mine has the factory switch I popped the blank out and installed the switch in it's proper location in the dash.
I can't see a Tdi being that much more involved? Apart from perhaps finding somewhere to mount the switch (carling switch supplied in lieu of genuine item I believe?) I bought the screen from Dave at VGS about 2 years ago and it has performed brilliantly. I seem to recall it being around £250 but I can't remember exactly ![]() 1990 Vogue SE Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 Td5 90 Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic50767.html Tdi 110 Thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic69562.html RRC Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic54492.html Instagram http://www.instagram.com/george_grafton |

To be clear the power and earth connection are direct to the battery and the relays sit in the battery box

There is a massive amount of extra room now. I think the seat must slide back an extra 50mm and reclines fully whilst in it's rear most position. Ideal for me

Quick little mod this afternoon after work. Put one of my spare Range Rover handbrake levers on. The long term plan is to make a custom cubby box which will encapsulate the handbrake as per Range Rover classic and D2.
Anyway until that point - this is what it looks like currently ![]() ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon 1990 Vogue SE Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 Td5 90 Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic50767.html Tdi 110 Thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic69562.html RRC Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic54492.html Instagram http://www.instagram.com/george_grafton |

my dads got that strip in, looks rather neat! I am toying with the idea of getting a black one but I think it would get scratched up too easy. Also how did you keep your defender interior dry? I have new seals on and it just ![]() ![]() In the words of my Good Friend, Gary Forrest 1980 -2025 " we will work something out" |

I am sure there is a blank slot under the binnacle that the switch can be popped into there, ![]() In the words of my Good Friend, Gary Forrest 1980 -2025 " we will work something out" |

When I rebuilt it I used all new genuine seals and made sure that they were correctly seated. By taking my time and lining everything up carefully it is leak (and jetwash) proof.
Also my doors have the latest one piece bottom seal that wraps around the sides which helps in that department. ![]() 1990 Vogue SE Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 Td5 90 Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic50767.html Tdi 110 Thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic69562.html RRC Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic54492.html Instagram http://www.instagram.com/george_grafton |
