Re the above. The ratchet was used once the nuts had been cracked with the bar. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

Sealey do a nice wheel nut socket with an inbuilt plastic sleeve.

Noooo way, and here is me messing on with axle stands, timber, outrigger mats from a scissor lift and a sledge hammer to knock the wheel off. 10 out of 10 as well

My impact hammer is a very fast way to destroy the nuts. I only use the wheel brace and occasionally the hammer to quickly do and undo them but not the final bits or cracking them off. Ed

Have i been doing it wrong for 30 years?never use a wheelwrench ....I always carry an old socket bar ..the ones that let the bar slide equally each side and a suitable socket and a small 2lb hammer.....never had any trouble getting a nut off with minimal effort!
