Mudflap rivnut help needed!
So, I naively took off one of my front mudflaps to repaid the bracket and now I can't get the bu99er back on. One of the rivnuts is loose and spins when I try to tighten the bolt. I can't get a decent grip on it with pliers and I'm hoping someone can advise a technique to get the bolt tightened up.

Screw a longer bolt into it with a nut already on the bolt, hold the bolt head with a spanner and gently tighten the nut and it will compress the riv nut, don't over tighten but nip it up so it grips.

You can probably reset the rivnut so that it grips the hole again. Use either a proper rivnut tool or a bolt, a couple of nuts and three hands. Darren

i used normal nuts and bolts; you can just about get your hand in there; i used stainless with nyloc nuts and plenty of copper greese.

To get rid of the spinning riv nut, they easily knock inside if you use a punch from the outside to be retrieved by hand, and don't damage the hole so could be replaced with new ones later on.
