I put genuine switches into the dash centre panel where the blanks were, wiring ran along the gbox tunnel and up to the main fuse board to a spare fuse, then up behind the dash to the switches. 2016 D4 HSE

If you want you don't need the two stage switch, it's only a pre-head function and normal function selection.
I run mine on normal all the time and switched that way, never seen the purpose to the pre heat as they are more than warm enough on normal! So much so, they are warmer on the normal heat than what many manufactures seats are as standard. Really nice in weather when you need it. ![]() Have a look at FCX's kit for wiring if you want to go don't the OE look route and it's all there for you. Mines a Puma kit so I'm not quite sure if there is one for a TD5 and how similar or dissimilar it would be. You can get genuine plugs and sockets too for a real genuine finish if you liked. |

Good points Steve but as there is no place for factory switches in a pre-2002MY Td5 then a genuine switch would need custom mounts. Fitting the twin stage switch may be a lot easier (and could be upgraded from in the future)

If this is any help, I too have installed heated seats in my 2004 td5, seeing that the proper switches cost a fortune everywhere I looked I just tried discovery heated seat switch search and sure enough the disco has the right switch and seat logo being the right way up. I got 2 off eBay for £26, the switches are black but it is hard to notice the difference.

I put heated seats in a '97 Td5. I put the switched on the front of the cubby box. That way, the wiring could be run under the cubby to the seats. Kept everything simple.
