![]() A car for purists, much like Zagatos Saab........simplicity, grace and faster than you'd think for a sixties car. Good ones selling for in excess of £ 75k and a works Jim Clark model for lottery winners only, I really wished I'd bought one back in the day. I started with nothing and still have most of it left! |

Best all round vehicle I have ever had.....
Citroën berlingo HDi van. Shocking eh! Excellent on fuel Really comfortable Very capacious Very little went wrong, and when it did it was very cheap to fix. Handled really well for a van, I put a set of alloys with a set of decent 'car' tyres on it and it was great, steering was nice too! I loved it, in the end the purchase of the 110 was what saw it go. Best car I have driven, jaguar XF-s sportwagon. What a machine, I haven't driven any other modern car that has the same feeling of 'specialness'. Fast, refined, discreet and unbelievable ability to cover ground effortlessly quickly- properly comfy too. |

1992 Peugeot 205 GTi. Bought it in 97 after owning a 1.6 punto sporting and couldn't believe is handling. Just like a rocket on rails. I still have it in the barn too.
Funniest car was a Daihatsu Charade GTTi with a 3 cyl turbo engine that a friend let me drive around oxford. Even had a turbo light and red line warning. Crazy little car |

Audi RS6 Avant. Comfort, space, Quattro system held like the proverbial, V8 soundtrack and the loud pedal was liking flicking a warp speed switch. After that a defender looks economical too
![]() I had the opportunity to attend a supercar day whilst I owned it, but the Lamborghini and Ferrari they had there didn't seem quite so impressive after driving the RS every day. Thankfully a couple of laps in a KTM X Bow with Allan McNish was pretty epic ![]() 2002 - Black Discovery II - Gone 2014 - Montalcino Red 110 XS SW |

Erm, a Ford Puma on a twisty road. It was just a very honest little car. I had a run out model 'Thunder' or something like that. Cheap and cheerful and handled quite well.

Ford Escort Mk2 in orange and it came with a blueprint of the engine and car. Fantastic road holding and could go round corners as if they weren't there .
Sold it and bought a brand new Nissan Micra in 1987 for my then student girlfriend ![]() Luckily although the car went the girlfriend is now the wife so silver linings. HR064 Hampshire and Berkshire 4x4 Response |

Honestly, the best car (for all round every day use) I have driven is the Discovery 4, torquey, comfy, tow most things, great for the tip runs, could almost get a skip load in the back.
Now for the memorable cars I have owned MK 2 JPS Capri MK 3 3.0 s janspeed exhaust, triple Webers Fiat 2.0 supermirafiori twin cam, coupe, quick and sweet handling C43 AMG the original q car, looked like a c180 went like a rocket, probably the second best car I have owned S5 coupe ( was the wife's actually) insane car, license loser. My 1989 Porsche Carrera
![]() But by far the best all round car I have owned was the Discovery 3, it did everything I ever asked of it, great load carrier, fantastic tow car and superb off road and in the snow, could not fault it. |
