Thanks, the colour change is abit of a dramatic change from the orange, but my old discovery 300tdi was in this exact same blue and i loved that colour.
Yes i completely agree the forklift is such a lift saver when moving the rear tub and changing tyres etc

Not 100% on the axles as i found it in my mechanics yard and said can you send it off to someone to who will refurbish it, so not sure what was used to protect the swivels and the paint i just used primer and i cant remeber the exact name of the black paint i used will check the tin and let you know

That would be a noooo to T-washing haha... what is twash? and i used etch primer on the galved parts as that is what i was told lol

had a busy weekend, went down to Billing Land Rover show on the Saturday, then on the sunday did some more work on the 90.
engine and gearbox mostly in, just need to put the galvanized gearbox cross member in and put the tower back on.

Then it is always like christmas opening packages

Also put the new shock absorbers onto the turrets ready to drop onto the 90

Took off the old rear arms and front arms and put the new ones on makes it look much better

Then started to wire brush the steering guard and wish i had never started took an absolutely ridiculous amount of time. also cleaned up my chequre plating and primed and sprayed that black. oh and then the steering guard somehow went yellow lol

And finally i started to prime the roof ready to be painted black and my plastic grill had gone abit faded from the sun so i sprayed that satin black and it looks much better Very Happy

Cheers glad you enjoyed the read, Its had many man hours put into it, and i suspect many more before it sees the road again, but it is nearly ready for the body to go on and then it will be taking shape nicely, just wire all the electrics in, and find an interior and a few more bits i cant think of but it will surely need haha

Been flicking through old photos on my computer and come across some of my 90 just before i took it off the road and decided to rebuild it.
It hasnt had an easy life whilst being with me for the last 5 years. Every month i went to Parkwood Off Road Centre for there Pay and Play days. Also went on many Greenlaning trips.
After i have completed this rebuild i will still use it Off road but not as often due to the amount of time and money i have put into it so far lol

Well an eventful weekend, the gearbox that i found about a year ago and have put into the 90 is in a word knackered Big Cry Big Cry it seems like the bloke i bought it off at a show told me a bag of lies. suspect its the main shaft that has snapped or something much worse. As soon as you select a gear and put it under any kind of load even by turning the rear propshaft by hand it just turns. there is no grip at all in any of the gears.
Luck would have it, my mechanic has a discovery with a manual R380 box in that he is breaking, so took it for a little drive around the yard and bought that box off him ready to put it back in again Evil or Very Mad Big Cry Evil or Very Mad

so i decided to go do some easier jobs instead. like a numpty i forgot about the hinges so they went from bright orange to blue, i finished off the roof in satin black. and painted the headliner black as well. the paint job on the roof is a bit half arsed as i was annoyed about the gearbox, i may redo it but then again no one sees the top of the roof. unless its a police helicopter chasing me Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

work on the 90 has come to abit of a stand still again (due to the TD5 discovery possibly needing a new clutch and DMF and i dont have the money for that)
but hopefully have the next gearbox dropped into place this evening and then just do abit more wiring in the engine bay and run the fuel lines. THEN its time to put the body back on and let the whole thing take shape again ands sort out on the little niggly problems YAY Very Happy

But heres another photo i found of the old girl when it was drive-able and i cant wait till i can drive it again Cool
