Touareg V10 Tdi- any experiences?
Has anyone on here got any ownership experience of V10 Tdi touaregs? Seem to have a couple of common faults with turbos and most major jobs require the engine to be dropped out but looking for some real world experiences.

Cheers

No personal experience, but it must be called a 'toe rag' for a reason? James

I looked into buying one about 2 years ago, spoke to mechanic at VW main dealer, good proper servicing is a must, frequent oil changes, timing gear oil blockages, will cause serious damages, diffs can go Pete Tong with all the torque. Jumped ship to reliability - Mitsubishi L200

Hi

We had a 2008 plate for a couple of years. Pulled like a train and drank like one too, 19mpg being an average. It always felt front heavy, nosed dived into bends and pot holes which i assume was the engine weight and springing.

issued faced:

Oil leak which required the engine out and took 10 days.
Bearing on drive shaft.
Front CV joints
Air compressor needed work and the air suspension did glitch a couple of times. turn off and on cured it each time.
it was starting to shift harsh in all gears and that when it was moved on with 45k on the clock.

Dave

Ooh, you don't want one of those things it's not a defender. Spend a disproportionate amount of money on your defender and then it will outlast the world. Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.

I had one for a days test drive a few years back, couldn't get on with the nose heavy handling and the 14mpg it was giving me, ended up buying a V6tdi ex demo with all the toys (including a 285bhp remap) pulled like a train and gave 25mpg pushing hard and 33mpg when I was driving Miss Daisy Thumbs Up 2014 110 2.2TDCi XS Station wagon

Laughing I've got a few defenders, all of which are 100% and are going nowhere Thumbs Up . The trouble is LR sadly don't make a vehicle that I want to buy any more. With the exception of the full fat rangie which is worth more than my house. Torn between another disco 2 or having a change for a while.

No one makes a vehicle that I would want to buy at the moment.
Well, apart from Toyota but you can't buy a 78 here.
