Are the flanges tight on the diff and transfer box?
I had a rattle on overrun for a while and also looked at the driveshafts and it happened to be the rear flang off the transferbox that had a little play. It was only visible with the handbrake drum attached with the drum off I knew it had to be there but hardly could see it. I tightend the nut and the rattle is gone. Thanks - that's got to be worth a look. Will check that and report back.
Just need to wait for a break in the weather, driveway has just turned into a small lake. |

To close the case on this...
Worn front shock absorber bushes, picked up at the MOT. Replaced and rattle gone! And there I was about to rebuild the front diff ![]() |
