Hi Beam lever/ switch - 1997 Defender

this is killing me (furstration)

I recently replaced the indicator/hi-lo and horn assembly due to the hi beam not working and the turns not cancelling.

every thing works fine but the hi beam. when its pushed forward (light on) it should set to hi beam and pulled back - hi-beam flash.

lo- beam is working fine, however hi-beam is the issue/symptoms.

I can get hi beam (dash warning light and hi-beam) if I push the lever forward 'just' in the right position. neither on or off on the lever (seems like contacts not making contact...?, not loose BTW

pulling the lever back for hi-beam flash - nadda, nothing at all

Sounds like a dodgy switch. Was it new or second hand?

I think you can get a look inside them and see what the contacts are doing if it's anything like the headlight switch.
