Mine has a useful chiller compartment below the driver's seat - the faster you go, the worse it gets

In the 110, with the heaters on you channel a real cold draft through to the rear passengers. In fact, it makes its way up between the cubby and drivers seat and chills my side.
Someone could base their entire final year aerodynamics project on the movement of heat around a Defender ![]() + New Defender 110 First Edition |

In my LHD 90 the air blows on the passenger feet (right side).
It disengages when I set the air-blow to 1. Janusz www.yahodeville.com |

I was out the night before last testing Pete’s EGR closure thingy and I could not believe the draft that was coming between the seats and the cubby box on both sides. Where the hell does it come from, it’s not just a draft it’s a bloody gale!! My wife made a similar comment the other day and being slightly on the defensive I replied that “it’s a Defender”. That got me nowhere as all I got was a smug “well mine doesn’t do it” referring to her tdi 90.

Ive not noticed the draft.
I bet your problem is poor assembly eg the pannel gap foam isnt correctly fitted...its not a hard job to check, but i would suggest it takes a few hours and one for the summer. As your there - you would probably want spare or sealant!! Mike |

Maybe - mine's fairly heavily coated with waxoyl, though.
I just assumed that it was an airflow consequence of the heater positioning channeling the cold air. To be honest, it's fine for me in the front (I have access to plenty of heating) it's more the kids in the back that I'm thinking of. I'll just have to wait for Dgardel to fit his Wabasto ![]() + New Defender 110 First Edition |
