2016 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 Adventure Corris Grey

New Adventure

New Adventure 110 ordered.

Always had the 'itch' to own one of these, so I have taken the plunge to buy one. Very excited to have the opportunity to have secured one of these last build models.

I am looking at getting the following down once it arrives in January.

Full underseal or wax oil
Sound proofing
Engine upgrade
Double Din stereo upgrade with nav
Window tints

Went to Twisted on saturday....looks like they will be doing most of this...very impressive place.

Have i missed anything?

Wow! I couldn't be more jealous, it sounds like it's going to be my perfect Defender!! You will of course have to post photos!!

For me that list is great, but obviously you need to add some layered security! Personally I like the wider stance and better turning circle of wheel spacers and DRL bumper.

Can't wait to see and hear more, I guess it's a little way off?

Congrats! Which colour combination did you order? I am waiting for my Adventure 110 in Corris Grey.

Twisted?.....IMHO you have chosen well. Which engine upgrade will you option?
I would suggest that you speak to Twisted about your suspension.

Hi,

The engine was to take it up to 170bhp, with a new intercooler etc and they mentioned the suspension option as a must too....just waiting for all the prices to be sent to me.

I'd question the sound proofing - it's very much a double edged sword if you apply one of the commercial kits that get glued in.

Is the sound really that bad? Doesn't it help to listen to a certain amount of mechanical feedback. You certainly know when something is wrong and a noise changes pitch.

A half-way house would be to fit some heavy rubber matting - as least for the floor, under seat areas. It can be lifted out quickly when you need to give it all a proper clean or wash out.

I soundproofed my 90 and it made the largest difference! It takes time and I am sure Twisted's is rated the best out of the lot and they realign the doors to stop as much water ingress as possible. Cheap probably not but labour intensive and nothing pre cut.

Under a remap I reckon the soundproofing is the next best mod. It warms up quicker than standard in Winter and you can actually hold a conversation! I know it is a Defender and will never be a Range Rover but as we all like upgrading Defenders, to me if done correctly is brilliant.

"Is the sound really that bad"?.....I'm with you on that one.
Wifey & I are out & about in Gracie quite a lot, we do some reasonably long daily journeys at times,...7/800ks, & we've never found any of the Defender "noise" intrusive. For sure it ain't no Rolls, it's a Defender,...all part of the joy!
So no worries for us, most of the time we're cruising at around 2000RPM in 6th,.....no noise issues for at all.
