How to program alarm fob

Hi....I am very frustrated!

One of my alarm fobs for my 2006 TD5 has stopped working. When I called Land Rover and finally got through to their sales they offered me an appointment in 3 weeks time! For a 5 minute job. I hate to think how much they were going to charge me.

Does anyone know any options? I am off to Spain, Portugal and Morocco in 10 days and I would love to get it fixed. I am based in London.

Really would appreciate some suggestions!

first thing rather than replace and programme new fob is to check the battery mounting cage inside the old fob , quite common on the style of fob is for the soldered joints of where the cage goes though the printed circuit board to break , quite a easy repair if your good with soldering iron

button mountings inside on the fob as well , but not quite so easy to repair

IF YOUR NOT GOOD WITH SOLDERING IRON , FIND SOMEONE WHO IS as its easy to get solder in wrong bits and knacker
if
it needs replacing then I think a nanocom etc can do it

I typed remotekeyfob see it was wrong then deleted the wrong bit

I had a fob from them a month or so ago and it's working well.

But if you've already got a fob and just want to program it I don't think they can help can they?

Buy a used fob off Ebay and get someone with a Nanocom to programme it for you.

Worked like a dream. Ordered Fob yesterday and received this morning. Took 30 seconds to program and then I send back device they sent to me in envelope they provide. Inc postage this has cost me £69.98. Very happy not to have had to deal with the Land Rover dealers who wanted my car for a whole day in 2 weeks time to do this tiny job.
