Revs stay high
SOMETIMES my MY2008 Puma's revs stay high when I change gears (take foot off accelerator) for a second or two, before dropping down.
What's causing this?
Thanks, www.ralton.co.za

Check the clutch switch installed on the clutch pump (engine bay)

It is a pressure switch and, easily, IT IS the problem.

If you want test, short circuit the connector with a piece of electric wire (harness side, not the switch) and test the car. Discovery 5 td6 HSE Stornoway Gray Outback Engineering Limited Edition

I'm not sure what the "clutch switch" is? - are you referring to the "clutch pedal sensor"?
Thanks! www.ralton.co.za

Daft though it sounds, check that the brake light fuse hasn't blown and that there aren't any issues with the brake lights.

On a 2.4, the brake light circuit is an input to the ECM and rev hang is one symptom of a brake light malfunction.
