Phone-controlled Range Rover helps you get out of a jam
Looked a little gimmicky but then they got to the bit in the car park where there wasn't enough room to get in the driver's seat, suddenly it's neat!

That's what you get when cars get bigger and bigger.
Also, touchscreens don't always react to my fingers. Hope that wouldn't mean I'd scratch the bumpers in a car park someday. Rolling Eyes

Haha wonder what happens when you get a phonecall when the car is half way down the incline.

"and my son didn't realize that he was not playing a game and that is why my Range Rover may have bumped your car officer......"

Interesting idea, the only bit I thought was useful though was the reversing out of a tight spot part. The rest seemed to provoke the question of "if you cant maneuver that, should you really be driving it?" Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197

Hang on, isn't it illegal to use a hand-held mobile phone while driving?

If so, by definition this is illegal. You are driving, you are holding your phone.

I find this a truly terrifying concept for a range of reasons, and what happens when the thieves get hold of it?

I'm trying to imagine the police chase with the thief walking behind your vehicle as it is remotely driven off at 4mph Laughing

Edit: Scratch that - I'm thinking what happens when someone like Pete Bell cracks the software and removes the low speed limiter Shocked

My elders have a caravan with motor movers on! Soo much fun but sooo slow! Easier to push the damn thing but they make it fun!

It would be so tempting to wire a couple of extra batteries up and see how fast the caravans would go with 36 volts tickling the motor!

So basically what we have here is the modern version of leading your horse up a mountain by it's reigns whilst you walk ahead? Very clever but not exactly a new idea. Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.
