I've had 2 sets done over the last couple of years at £35 a wheel, the tyres need to come off to do it properly and you'll usually have to sort this yourself.

As Camelman stated £35 per wheel is about right no tyres fitted. I paid similar when I had mine done.

CAS Coating in Bradford www.cascoatings.com charge with prices starting at £1 per inch - 16" wheel £16. You have to supply with out tyres and any scuffs repaired. I have 5 Freelander wheels done a couple of years back in Silver Sparkle - excellent. Cheers

My Painter is 50 a wheel. He does a fantastic job though. I prefer to have wheels painted than powder coated as maintanance is much easier.
Tyres need to be removed for either though to get a quality job. ![]() |

I've never tried painting only powdercoating. The ones that I have recently taken off after over 5 years of fitment I was going to have refurbished but once cleaned and the weights removed they don't need it. Powdercoating to be resilient and effective must be done correctly by a reputable coaters or it can peel off in sheets if moisture finds it's way in.

Thanks for the replies, it's less than I was expecting to be honest, I thought it'd be £50/60 per wheel, I've been looking at some anthracite Boosts on eBay, they seem to be expensive for what they are, even though they look nice, I'd be better off buying some loose wheels and getting them sprayed, or doing it myself and investing in a spray gun, I've got a compressor etc, just not done any fine paint work....
Looks like they've either sold or been removed now anyway.... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Defender-wheels-...7675.l2557 These also seem like good value, even though the tyres are fitted, a mate of mine would take all of them off and refit for a twenty spot... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/111640787196?_tr...EBIDX%3AIT |
