I occasionally get a a slight water leak in the front passenger foot well and it appears to be coming from the air grill under the dash above the foot well. Its a warranty issue but I am interested in where the leak originates. Grateful for any replies..

Do a search under 'passenger footwell leak' or a combination of two out of the three words. Loads of information but from experience my money's on your windscreen seal. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Further to my original post I have noticed water dripping from the passenger side wheel arch rear behind the liner which appears to directly under the air intake ducting in the engine compartment passenger side.....any comments would be appreciated...

There is a grommet to check, it is the water outlet seal under the heater air intake box. If you have airconditioning with regards to the passenger footwell there is a second grommet which is the main water/condensation outlet seal that is located in the transmission tunnel about 200mm in front of the gear lever. Get underneath and shove your hand above the gearbox and you will feel a rubber teat, give it a squeeze and water not milk should run down your arm the latter one you can modify by cutting it to prevent it becoming blocked in future. Thanks for your help, but forgive my ignorance how do you access the air intake water outlet seal? I have no air con so presume I won;t have to put my milking expertise into practice .
Thanks Dave |
