I find going on to roundabouts in the Puma with the low first gear takes a bit of care, but I love the whole package. I know all the talk of fancy electronics etc but I have surprised myself and come to accept them as a necessary evil. If we want the Defender various directives have to be complied with so that is the way that it is. Those not too happy about the electronics (I was firmly in that camp) need to ponder this. Everyone craves and expounds the simplicity of earlier, less sophisticated vehicles (myself included) but would you contemplate a return to the Wright brothers very simple aircraft over todays highly sophisticated machines? No doubt if the Wrights had a ding or a breakdown it was easily fixed but would you want your pilot jumping out with the spanners and ductape to get you back in action. Me after 14 years as a tdi man I thought it could not be beaten and nothing could replace it for me. Along came the Puma and I have jumped ship and have no qualms about it. Don't know about a Td5 but it is a more livable, comfortable and overall enjoyable package than any other Land Rover I have ever owned. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel
