@Sphere Personally I haven't had my fingers burnt by them, I did go down to their yard at Chepstow a number of years ago for some bits for a Freelander and a couple of wheels and tyres for the 110. I did get what I wanted at a good price but you did get the feeling that he could be a bit sharp. He did know what he was talking about when it came to specific bits.
Fingers crossed, there have been as many people happy with the goods as there have been disappointed. |

Got the first quote from main dealer, and its going to be at least £1500 to buy a new genuine parts roof, deliver it, and paint it. Thats including new seals etc. Thats the DIY fit cost!
If this is all I can get, it looks like it will have to go through insurance, so bye bye NCD for my son. I will make some phone calls to the breakers tomorrow, might get lucky. 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV 1966 S2a 109 aka Betsy 1968 S2a 88 aka Bob 2014 Jaaaag F Type 3.0 Supercharged. |

I'd go the the breakers route myself, they come up second hand aswell though so worth a search on ebay. I sold my roof and sides with rear door that were mint off my 2011 90 for about £950 a few months ago so minus the £500 the door was worth youd have had a perfect one £500 with free side pannels which wouldnt have needed anything spent on it and saved your sons NCB which is a lot when he's young for next year. I'd echo those who say find one in a breakers. You can cut the roof to fit Alpine lights, it's only sheet alloy Use the old roof as a template and use the old glass, rubbers and trims.
Just as an example there's an entire (actually quite tidy looking) 90 HT roof on eBay at the mo for £320 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rover-Defen...1380812648 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top 2015 D90 XS SW |
