I came home from a camping trip today, to discover that my son has tried to 'squeeze' the 90 into a multi storey car park in Stockport His excuse was that it fitted under the entrance barrier, he says it was close, but did not touch. He says it hit the concrete roof when he was coming out. The car parks in Stockport are signed at 2.0m and I have always stayed away presuming the car was too high.
So, the roof is . Deep scoring, pushed down in the middle, torn at the seam that joins the front section to the rear. The good news is that neither alpine window got broken. So, I think a new roof is probably a DIY proposition, with an opportunity to renew the leaky seals. I have a garage to do the job in. Do new roofs come sprayed, or in primer? The car is Oslo blue metallic. Its a CSW so currently has a body coloured roof, but would a white or black roof suit - anyone got any pictures? Any idea of cost? 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV 1966 S2a 109 aka Betsy 1968 S2a 88 aka Bob 2014 Jaaaag F Type 3.0 Supercharged. |

Duckworths always seem to have some at the LRO shows for sale, don't to know if they stock any all year round? An engine to TDi for!

Well I am thinking this too, I need to speak to the insurance co and get their advise. What is the exact published height of a 2002 Defender 90 CSW ? 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV 1966 S2a 109 aka Betsy 1968 S2a 88 aka Bob 2014 Jaaaag F Type 3.0 Supercharged. |

I had a similar thing a few years back with a 110 I had (company car)
Drove into carpark, it fitted under the chain barrier thing. but when I went under some pipework, it smacked the roof. I took lots of pictures, contacted the council (Swindon BC,) and claimed through their insurance, got the roof mended and resprayed (which was handy, as my 110 was a base spec SW in red, with a white roof. so I got the roof painted red to match the vehicle) |
