(Spitting out my tea in shock!) Sell the Beetle!! I couldn't do that. It took two years to restore, and I've had it for 8 years now. It runs like a dream, is cheap to run and like the Defender, makes you smile when ever you drive it. Not to mention the smiles you get off other people. You can't beat the sound of that air-cooled engine.

I have a 40 year old Beetle that we restored that is my weekend car

Last time I checked, the weekend was two - sometimes even three - days!

The Beetle looks lovely but perhaps better suited to Sundays rather than Saturdays? Wink

It amazes me that someone liking a such a Beetle could buy a car without soul.
But it's good to hear you swapped the Evoque for a real car. Have fun restoring it from new... Mr. Green

Hello Smilesapart... so where is it then?, we need to see a photo...
(or have I missed it ?)

Agree keep the Beetle. I am hoping that the Defender will live on past next December
with the rights / tools being sold to some VC group or 'men in sheds', so like the Beetle
it has a chance to keep going when the parent company gives up on its gem!...
who knows JLRs Indian owners may get an approach along these lines.

Well done for joining in, if you get it, there really is no substitute.

A friend of mine has recently taken delivery of a Porsche Cayenne which drives really
well and to my eye (now evolved) doesn't look odd either. I would also guess that you
could drive across Europe at a moments notice and it wouldn't let you down...

But guess which one I want to drive Question
