Has anyone thought of adding a wooden floor in their Land Rover like BLR or the other bespoke LR people?

 Click image to enlarge Still have plans for a custom cubby box made of some special wood, but not for the floor inside the crew cab. I'm trying to get the noise level down a bit. A wooden floor probably wouldn't help. |

In another post he mentioned it was Iroko, a lovely wood to work with having simular properties to teak so very hard wearing. It will go darker as it gets older but ideal for that type use.

I could splash a couple of buckets of sea water in the back and give it a good rub. A good way of getting the original color back, although I'm fairly sure it wouldn't do good for the rest of the car.
Anyways, left the wood untreated so it can age nicely and I don't have to be too careful with it. For anyone considering a wooden floor don't forget cargo rails. I have two on the floor and one on each side and it makes life so much easier than jus a couple of rings to get your load fixed. The 130 didn't even have one single fixing point. 
Eric, not too many photos, but from the outside the car looks completely standard. There should be one or two photos from an adventure weekend on this forum and you could look up my name on Flickr. I have some up there as well. |

And it's type approved by Lloyds of London as decking, so you could even take it wading

I was thinking that I would remove the horrid chequer plate that is fitted and Dynamat it all then apply the wood on top, which i presume is just glued in?

Thats it, you can glue it in or you could screw it. Ill do mine so its removable though as it will just be the floor section like Barbara and Brendon's, might do it a bit more snazzy like TookaPhotos' one though with edging, might get a shape in the middle too, but have to wait and see
Like B&B say though its not that hard more time consuming, but you can always do it simply in straight planks which looks good as above or go the full works like the 130 for the wow factor. Just depends how much time you put into it. Cheers Tom  Defender puma dormobile camper |

Tek-Dek is easier to work, and lighter, than the real thing. But still pretty expensive…
Don’t bother with anything like that for my truck, but my Mog has wooden floor, bulkhead, door frames and body tub as standard, while you guys are playing with Dinitrol, I’m lying on my back brushing on Cuprinol! Peter |
