Went for a meal in Denshaw (Oldham) thought I'd take my camera while I was up there, took a few snaps of the helicopters working on the moors. It was bloody cold, heater worked as well as any other car I've owned, does help partitioning off the cab tho

...or in this case did not do...
I did not drive my Defender along a flooded road because a Police officer in PINK WELLIES said I could not! Only the pink wellies make this remarkable. And yes, the reason for not letting me through was a good one. |

Replaced the clutch switch on my td5.
What a difference! It now backs off the throttle when I do, not half a second later. It must have been stuck on, so permanently telling the ecu I was pressing the clutch, even when I wasn't. First job in a few months which has actually cured the symptoms I was trying to sort out! |

Passed 224,000 miles.
For once it was a sunny day and not raining, so I set to:- Washed it for the first time in three months. Rubbed down a couple of rusty patches - one on the rear offside capping (so I see it every day getting worse) and the other on the rear offside door frame. Did all the proper prep and then a couple of coats of POR-15. The capping got a top coat of Java Black too. Once a small pot of POR-15 is opened it goes off very quickly, so I slopped a coat onto the rear cross member and tow bar brackets. Didn't want to waste it... Certainly seems so. Tick over seems a little smoother. It still jerks as I back off the throttle but this now feels more mechanical, somewhere in the drivetrain - and at least it jerks exactly when I back off and not when it feels like it! It is certainly worth a punt at circa £25 if you have issues. |

I get jerkyness in low gears/low revs so maybe worth a dabble. 1999 Defender TD5 110
