If they are moving the traps they are more than likely the bigger 'Ràt' version

^^^^ That's what I thought too, I used to have a live trap to move them well away (long way) to avoid killing them but A. People think your mental if they see you with a rat in a cage and B. They are bloody nasty when cornered, theyll go for you if you don't watch it for certain!

Hi, moving even further off topic, any one recommend a good mole trap, I have only caught 1 in 4 weeks of trying. The moles seem to set them off and move on! (Using 1/2 tunnel traps at the moment) 110 SW Aintree Green

We use defenders claw traps if you have a Yorkshire trading store or similar they are about 4 quid each. Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon. |

Poison. It's the future. Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon. |

Not sure if they're available in the UK, but in France we use an electronic mole trap that sets off a small explosive charge in the tunnel, that sorts the little b***ers.

We gave up traps a long time ago.
This stuff is the only 100% effective poison we've come across. It's not cheap but it does work..... http://www.pestcontrol.basf.co.uk/agroport...-gold.html ![]() |

We find a simple shoe box sized cage with a trap door and filled with loads of good tucker works real well.
And there is the added benefit that you can relocate the blighters to the residence of some pons nosed bloke up in the best part of town after you've captured them! Rats and mice are ungrateful little blighters, they never come back to thank you. ****CENSORED**** |

Got to move 'em atleast ¾ mile or they will come back.
We used to put a drop of Tippex on their backs before we let them go so we'd recognise any returnees. ![]() |

Trouble with poison is that I always worry some of the more desirable wildlife could end up eating one of the dead rodents. If you live anywhere close to 3/4 mile from the pons nosed part of town you'll probably find the rats are soothing compared to the neighbours! ****CENSORED**** |

We're 4 miles from anywhere.
We only use the poison inside the house and inside the caravan so the risk to other wildlife is minimal. ![]() |
