so I'm seriously trying to figure out how to fit a double DIN to my defender (a whole other topic)
and i was contemplating moving the switches which need to be relocated to a puma pod rather than cutting a big hole in the dash for the replacement switch panel I've got 2 carling switches in my puma pod so far and they're good, so i was wondering if it would be too much of a job / if it is possible to replace the standard switches with carling switches. i think id leave the 2 heated screens standard, and so id need to replace the following switches with carling ones: - rear squirter and rear wiper (mud carling equivalent: http://www.mudstuff.co.uk/products/electri...witch.html - hazard lights (mud carling equivalent here: http://www.mudstuff.co.uk/products/electri...witch.html - rear fog light (mud carling equivalent: EDIT: turns out mud sell an actual fog switch - http://www.mudstuff.co.uk/products/electri...witch.html ) 3 or 4 carlings will fit fine in the puma pod i already have, but I'm wondering if the wiring will work? i know the standard LR switches are some different type of switch but i don't see why they couldn't work? mud sell carling switches for Hazards, Rear wash/wipe etc and a range of on/off and momentary switches so I'm sure i could get whichever type i need but id need a bit of advice on wiring probably? thanks in advance! I've already got 2 mud ones, don't know what you mean about the american way? they seem to work fine for me!

Hi David,
Id of thought it should be fairly simple as when I had my dash out all the wires looked pretty long. When you've done it would it be ok to post a picture please, as this is something i'm planning to do and like you also don't want to cut into the dash. Cheers Tom  Defender puma dormobile camper |

Carling have done the work for you. Click on the 'fitting instructions' tab on any of the Carling switches on the website and it'll show you the pinouts of the hazard and rear wash wipe. You might need to extend some of the wires, depending on your model.

Yup the american way but as you have two mudstuff ones makes sence to keep the trend UK ones are the revearse |

Ohh ok I get it, hadn't thought of it like that! Will stick to mud then and just been looking through wiring etc and should be ok, just need to sort a double din facia now Cheers, David
