2013 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 XS CSW Santorini Black

Should the radio work with the ignition off (MY13 Puma)?

Should I be able to use the Alpine radio in my MY13 with the ignition off?

I just tried to use it but no joy. I'm sure it did work before with the ignition off by just holding down the on switch for a few seconds.

my 08my 90 truck cab comes on with engine off and says on the display 1hour
i assume its so you can have the radio on without draining the battery.
this is a land rover head unit.
Will check the 110 later which has the alpine head on

Thanks Steve!

I blew a fuse on the interior lights/radio earlier and i'm sure I could use the radio before I replaced the fuse.

Just wondered if i'd blown anything else!

The radio does not work without ignition on with the Alpine head unit.

It does. Once you turn off the engine, so long as the key is in position 1 you can use the radio

On the land rover head unit the key doesn't need to be in and you get an hour before it turns itself off.
I was trying with no key.

That has been a common thing with Fords, another legacy of the Americans. They probably offloaded a couple of decades worth of stocks when they left
