To Space or not to Space
I know it has probably been covered but sometimes good to get a new perspective,

Really like the look of Sweepc new defender 90 with black 16" boosts and 30mm spacers what are most peoples thoughts on spacers the reason I ask a lot of aftermarket wheels do not look as good as Black Boosts but with spacers they look even better

i understand everybody has there own opinion and I have read the threads from various members but if reputable manafacturers make these for the aftermarket surely they test them in house before release is 30mm so bad Shocked

Why do you want spacers?

Just remember that tyre tread has to be inside wheel rich flare.

Also find out your insurance company attitude first, prior to buying.

For me it is purely aesthetic I like my boosts not too fussed with changing for different bigger wheels and tyres but if they work why not,

Still waiting for my Scheelman quotes Brendan

I like the look .. just my opinion .. I may have gone a little overboard with my choice of tyres (285 18s) but once I've sorted out stopping all the sh*t being sprayed up the sides I'll be happy. I don't like spacers, don't see the need for them at all.

I do like black Boosts though Thumbs Up John

My 110 came with spacers already fitted by the previous owner, along with 265 tyres. The tyres fill the arches without protruding beyond which, aesthetically, I quite like. From a practical perspective, the steering lock is also pretty impressive.

The only downside is the amount of crud thrown up the bodysides, but I guess that's why Dirt D-fenders were invented Laughing

For me, it also means that the track width matches my widetrack trailer, which needs spacers to allow alloy wheels to be fitted:

^^ thats a nice looking truck, mine gets the sprayup the sides but hopefully when i add the dirt d fenders that will stop. Ive had spacers on my 300tdi for years and on my 2.2 for a few months. I do check them now and again, but i personally have never had the bolts slacken off. Not sure about others though

Thanks Smile They've been fitted for around three years (a little over two in my ownership). They get checked every year at service time but haven't required any further attention. Darren

Fitted my 30mm spacers yesterday. I have put thread lock on the studs and torqued them to what Bulldog, the manufacturers advise. I won't be re checking the torque as this will break the threadlock but will remove the wheel every now and again to check visually. I'm running 265 mud terrains and the tread is just within the arch.
